  2. Very good thought. I have always lost respect for men who make negative comments about their wives when they’re not around. They don’t seem to understand that they are making themselves look dim because the unspoken question becomes, “If what you’re saying is true, when why did you marry her?”.
    It’s the same thing with women that I have heard talking down their husbands, in doing so they actually talk down themselves.

  3. I think there is a distinction between loving banter, seeking consolation and advice privately, and destructive complaining. However, this is a great piece of advice. I always find an”assuring if grievances” to be tasteless and embarrassing.
