Gum Drop Engineering Project

Some gum drops and toothpicks create a fun engineering project for kids of all ages. My 9 year old boy especially loved it and showed quite a talent for creating structures. He also took these photos.

I spent 3 bucks on the gum drops and toothpicks and this entertained all 5 of my children, ages 13-2, for HOURS. Worth every penny.

It also makes a great travel project for evenings in hotels when you want to entertain children on a low budget, with easy to find things, for long periods of time.

Pro tip: if you want to eat the gum drops later you need to use plastic toothpicks, the wooden ones leave behind tiny shards of wood making the gum drops useless for consumption unless you like throat splinters.
